Putting detail into a work can be a fine balance. Some of my past artworks could have been finished at earlier stages, and sometimes I work on them so much that I go too far to pull them back. It is always hard as an artist to know when to stop, or when you haven't gone far enough.
In this work I wanted to put a lot of information into the illustration with words. So I rendered the hands with some flat background colour and let it dry. You can see to the left I've sketches out examples of the text that I wish to use and I will very carefully hand write each element into place on the final painting.
The challenge for this one will be the text size and trying to make the work look simple but not overcrowded. I love challenges like this.
