One thing that I learnt when I had my art studio in a vintage caravan was how important inspiring images can be. I need visuals around to help settle my mind when I paint and work. This is a section of what is currently pinned to the back of my studio door.
This week I've come across this brilliant article by Seth Godin - Getting Picked (Need to vs. Want To). It touches on a familiar subject felt by many modern day artists, crafters and creators. In a world full of digital connections, how do you cope when you put yourself out there and don't get picked?
I used to take it to heart, but now I've realised that if I keep worrying about how to get seen, who to get seen by, creating things to get seen..... it backfires. The most important thing is to keep channelling your energies into the positive, which for me is the making. Opportunities will arise at the right time and funnily enough it is usually when it is out of your control.
