I had the pleasure of being involved in a video to promote Off The Page being held in the Town of Claremont along with other participating artists. You’ll see a snippet of me with my work around 1 minute in.
Here is a snapshot of the local & international artists participating in Off The Page. I’m inspired by all the different interpretations and installations using books, paper & print.
I’ve been partnered with the designer shoe store Elle et Lui and have four new artworks as part of my installation. Here is the largest one -
“Je Vais Te Prendre Des Places” (I Will Take You There)
Acrylic on Collaged Vintage Book Pages on Canvas
76cm x 76cm (30” x 30”)
Inspired by the store name of “Elle Et Lui” which translates from French into Her and Him, I’ve used a 1927 French language novel within the creation of this painting. Collaging the pages into the background in a chaotic yet repetitive pattern, the use of the text is symbolic. In a random pattern various styles of shoes have been painted in all shapes, colours and styles. Brands featured include Paulo Brandao, Egido Alves and Luis Onofre.
Head to Off the Page between 30 April and 12 May for your chance to win!

Some more mini artworks I painted to sit within the installation and beside the main piece.
Last December I had an idea to paint custom watercolour wreaths at a market stall. It was fun.
