Antarctic Beech Tree - original Illustration

Australia has some of the tallest and most unique trees in the world. This is one of the most fascinating trees that I've ever come across. These Antarctic Beech trees are as old as the dinosaurs and have a fascinating root system. An interesting fact about these trees is that they do not regrow after a bushfire.

This is an original acrylic painting on top artist quality watercolour paper of the Antarctic Beech tree. I wanted the viewer to feel the age of the tree with the moss adorning it and the root system overlapping itself.

This illustration features in the "The Book of Australian Trees".

Painted with acrylic on beautiful 300gsm watercolour paper. It is A3 in size (29.7 x 42cm) and will be posted in a flat non bendable mailer. It is signed and dated and will have a certificate of authentication.
